GTA Online's Next Update Teases Aliens and Return of Dr. Friedlander

A new trailer for the next update to GTA Online shows more drug wars, aliens, and the return of a character from the story of Grand Theft Auto V. Even though it came out almost ten years ago, GTA Online is still going strong and doing its best to keep players interested. Rockstar has also started spreading out the content in its bigger updates so that there is a more steady flow of content in the game. In the last few years, it has mostly been reduced to two big content updates every six months or so, but that leaves players with a lot of empty time in between.

Los Santos Drug Wars, the last big update, was the first to break up its content into chunks to make it easier to handle. The last part of this update, called "The Last Dose," will come out next week, and Rockstar Games has given us a brand-new trailer for it. The next update for GTA Online will come out on March 16. The trailer isn't very long, but it shows how crazy everything is and tells us that UFOs and aliens will play a part (like in a psychedelic trip) and that Michael's therapist, Dr. Friedlander, will be back. We don't know what Friedlander's role is yet, but since this update is about psychedelic drugs, he may be trying to become a drug lord to offer other kinds of therapy. Dr. Friedlander is Michael's therapist in Grand Theft Auto V until he gets a deal for a TV show. He tells Michael that he needs to find a new therapist and that the show will be based on Michael's life. Then, Michael can either kill Dr. Friedlander or let him get away. If he lets him go, players will get an email from him thanking Michael for letting his story be told. So, the canonical decision seems to be that Friedlander lived and went on to do his TV show.
