Grand Theft Auto Leaker Narrows Down GTA 6 Release Date

A known GTA leaker has narrowed down the release date of Grand Theft Auto 6, saying that Rockstar is currently planning to release the much-anticipated game during the holiday season of 2024. Their report also gave new information about how the game is being made. For example, it said that GTA 6 might hold back parts of the game for DLC.

Game industry insiders have been talking about when GTA 6 will come out for years. None of their most optimistic predictions came true, but it's possible that the COVID-19 pandemic caused a major setback in the game's development. Not only because that's exactly what happened with a lot of other large AAA projects with in-office teams all over the world.
In a new report posted on a GTA fan forum, known Rockstar insider Tez2 said that even though Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently aiming for a tentative release window set for the holiday season of 2024, more delays are possible. People say that a big reason for this uncertainty is that the developer, like most big tech companies, has recently started looking into a mandatory return-to-office policy that is not going over well with its employees. Forcing all developers back to the office could speed up the release of GTA 6 because it would give the management a better idea of how the project is going. However, the same source says that doing so increases the risk of losing top engineering talent, which could easily cause more delays.
Given how things are now, the insider thinks it's possible that GTA 6 will come out in early 2025. Their claim that Rockstar is planning to release the next GTA game in late 2024 makes sense because the holiday season is usually the most profitable time of the year for game publishers. This is shown by the fact that all 3D GTA games came out in the last quarter of their respective release years, most often in October. A two-year wait also fits with a real leak about Grand Theft Auto 6 from late 2022, which said the game wasn't even close to coming out.

Even if GTA 6 doesn't come out in the next two years, fans won't have to wait that long for an official announcement, since Rockstar announced the last two games two years before they came out on the market.
